The statement fashion piece is one item that most women tend to overdo when creating their unique look or trying to be fashion-forward! Creating a unique look doesn’t mean combining several clashing styles or wearing more than one stand-out statement piece.

So, what’s a fashion statement piece? Every outfit needs a focal point – one element that will stand out over your other pieces. This can be a pair of shoes, a fabulous necklace or bracelet, a top, skirt or dress, earrings or even a stand-out bag.

When creating your outfit, decide what you will make your focal point. For me, it’s usually a pair of fabulous shoes, a bracelet or a great necklace. I’ve got this gorgeous wide leather cuff with some beautiful stones & crystals set into it. When I wear that, I pair back my entire outfit. Which means everything else I put around it is simple in style. This ensures that your outfit doesn’t compete with your chosen item.

I also ensure that whatever I choose to highlight is in the same style as my outfit. For example, you wouldn’t wear a boho necklace with a classical lace dress. The two are just different in style & will end up clashing – badly.
