Growing up, I found a puff sleeve to be one of my favourite styles. Whether it reminded me of Snow White and the puff sleeves on her dress or just because the style is incredibly feminine. Fast forward many years, and the puff sleeve is back. So, what is the best way to wear the puff sleeve trend? Let’s take a look.
I talk a lot about balance, but to me, this is one of the keys to creating a look that you’ll feel comfortable in. Because the puff sleeve widens the shoulder, you need to widen the bottom half of your outfit to create that balance. Here’s how you can do this.
The polka-dot top looks great with a pair of wide-leg pants. The pants don’t have volume through the hips; the volume is at the bottom of the pants, which creates the balance you want with the shoulders.
This lace top looks great with bootcut jeans. The bootcut hem balances the width of the shoulders. What to remember is, that if your shoulders are wider in width, then to create that balance, you need to create width elsewhere in your outfit. It’s really that easy.
Pair with sandals in beige or any other colour. I like these sandals from Ancient Greek Sandals – Estia – as they match the style of the top.
